Education at the University of the Aftermarket is moving closer to its students and members of the aftermarket now might want to consider going back to school.

The Alliance of Automotive Service Providers of Minnesota (AASP-MN) recently held its 14th annual Lights On For Safety event, in which volunteers, with help from automotive technical students, conducted a free inspection and replacement of exterior vehicle light bulbs for the motoring public.

Hunter's training program achieved ASE-certified status from the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence. the company earned the accreditation through the CASE (Continuing Automotive Service Education) program after an extensive evaluation by the NATEF (National Automotive Technicians Education Foundation).

Recognizing there are many women interested in pursuing careers in the automotive industry, NASCAR and the UTI Foundation established the Brienne Davis Scholarship Fund for women seeking an automotive technical education.

The UTI Foundation, in conjunction with NASCAR Angels, NASCAR's reality TV show that gives deserving individuals a transportation fix, is awarding one $25,000 scholarship to NASCAR Technical Institute in Mooresville, N.C. Aspiring students can now submit their video application for the chance to earn $25,000 toward any program at NASCAR Technical Institute.

Troy Thompson from Ramona, Calif., received the Automotive Technology Outstanding Student Scholarship at the 2008 North American Council of Automotive Teachers (NACAT) Conference held recently at the Pennsylvania College of Technology in Williamsport, Penn.

The Global Automotive Aftermarket Symposium (GAAS) Scholarship Committee announces that the New York State Automotive Aftermarket Association (NYSAAA) will be collaborating in creating an online scholarship resource for students planning to pursue careers in the automotive aftermarket.
